It is not really a nice article. React has plenty of support as it is very popular. Many companies require some knowledge of at least one component-based framework like React, Vue, Angular, etc. You’ll be hard-pressed to find one that would accept knowledge of only vanilla JS. Your skills would have to be phenomenal.
